After creating a Twitter account and posting my first tweet, I have noticed many differences between a Twitter discussion and blackboard discussion. Twitter limits the number of characters allowed in a tweet to ensure that posts and responses are short and to the point. Its also a more informal form of communication and if made public, can be viewed by anyone. On the other hand, Blackboard discussions provide unlimited space to share your thoughts and is only open to your class and professor. However, I believe that face-to-face discussions are the most efficient way for a class to really share their ideas or opinions.
